List the towns you want jobs in. Google ranks you town by town, and each town gets its own page.

Services and pricing

One line per service. Add a starting price only if you're comfortable showing it. Sites that show "from" prices get more calls from people who are ready to book.

Which one or two services do you most want more of?

What do customers ask you most before hiring? (two or three questions; they become the site's FAQ)

Anything you get calls for that you do not do? (we'll say so on the site to cut junk calls)

Two or three sentences is plenty, and we use your own words on the site, so write it the way you would say it to a neighbour, not the way a website talks.

How did you get into the trade, and why should someone hire you over the next guy?

Things you do that most competitors don't (shoe covers, text when on the way, photos of the finished work, meet the adjuster, etc.)

What goes wrong first on a job like yours around here? (the thing you find on most calls: the flashing someone caulked over, the water heater nobody flushed, the moss on the north slope)

Photos and logo

Photos do more for a contractor site than anything else. Phone photos are fine. Use the checklist below; tick what you have. Name or sort the photos by the category if you can (hero, before, after, crew, detail, job) and we place them without asking.

Logo as a file, or a straight-on photo of the truck door 1 wide "hero" shot: a finished job, sideways (landscape), daylight, nothing cluttering the frame. Send this one through a shared folder, not by text (texting shrinks it) 8 to 12 finished jobs, wide and straight-on 3 or 4 before-and-after pairs, shot from the same spot 2 or 3 of the crew at work, and one of you or the crew with the truck 1 or 2 close-ups that show the craftsmanship

How to shoot: hold the phone sideways · step back further than feels natural · wipe the lens · take three of everything · no homeowner faces, house numbers, or license plates. Photos must be your own jobs.

Who answers the phone?

I'm interested in the business line (missed-call text-back). If so, we need three things carriers require before texting:

Legal business name (as registered with the state)

EIN (or "sole proprietor")

Registered business address (if different from above)

Why these three: carriers register every business that sends texts, and the registry asks for the legal name, EIN, and registered address. We use them for that registration only. They are sent when you press Send and are never kept in your browser. How we handle what you tell us.
